Cotton futures saw gains of 73 to 99 points on Friday. USDA reported a total of 354,689 RB in export bookings during the week of November 19. That was the second largest this MY and 55.84% above the same week last year. Sales for 21/22 totaled 38,480 RB. Commitments for upland cotton exports are now 71% of USDA’s official projection, with the 5-year average at 63%. Shipments are also running ahead of normal at 29% of the projected total. On Wednesday, The Seam posted a sale of 3,010 bales traded at an average price of 67.67 cents/lb, up 1.85 cents from the previous day. The Cotlook A index was down 50 points to 78.95 cents/lb as of November 26. The AWP for cotton is 58.63 cents/lb. through next Thursday, up 1.79 cents from last week.
