Soybeans Higher on Black Friday

Soybean futures are up 5 ¾ to 6 ¾ cents on Friday. Soybean meal is up $1/ton, with bean oil 64 points higher. This will be a short session, ending just after noon. Dalian futures were up 7 cents per bushel in active January on Thursday, trading at $15.54 per bushel. The weekly Export Sales report, pushed back to this morning, indicated just 768,071 MT of soybean sales for the week ending last Thursday. That was on the lower end of estimates, and a marketing year low. China accounted for 578,724 MT in sales. Meal bookings totaled 138,144 MT, with bean sales of 26,302 MT. The Bueno Aires Grain Exchange pegged Argentina’s soybean planting at 39.3%, slightly above last year but lagging the 5 year average of 44.6%.

DEC 19 Soybean Meal is at $397.90, up $1.00,
DEC 19 Soybean Oil is at $38.82, up $0.64
